like taking a virtual vacation

Check out the Degree Confluence Project. It's a project where people go to the meeting points of the integer values of longitude and latitude degrees, take pictures and write up a little story of their trip to that confluence point. I've been regularly checking out this site, but thought I'd blog it today since I was checking it out. I like it because it turns a number into a landmark and gives a reason to visit even the most remote regions of the planet. It's great to read the stories that people write because it really boils down the idea of knowing where it will end, but wanting to know what it took to get there.
